hmmm - so where do i start.
ok, first look in CVS. we *HAVE* been active. there is tonnes of code - but
there is no working WM at ALL! take a look. There's lots of back-end libraries
to do almost everything imaginable really fast, nicely, cleanly etc. BUT no WM.
how can we call it stable if there *IS* nothing? We have been working on making
libraries to build the WM on. building libraries makes the code accessible to
something OTHER than the WM. we can recycle the code everywhere - anyone can use
it easily. this is important and if the WM has to wait - then it waits. that's
life. no one is paying us. our jobs or careers aren't on the line. it's done for
fun. our priority is to build a SOLID set of code that we can build on for many
years to come. that's top priority. there's lots of code in CVS sitting at 0.9.x
some at 1.0.x_pre (i.e. in alpha/beta stages for a 1.0 release) and some past
1.0 (1.1.0, 1.0.4 etc.)
I have a new WM codebase built on all the new libs here - but its not usable as
a WM at all - i won't put this in CVS until it is. i haven't had time to flesh
it out of late thanks to work and personal commitments (like projects at work -
changing jobs, moving countries etc.).
