Useful command are :set syntax=edc or :setf edc, you may edit filetypes.vim as well.
Using this syntax file it's quite easy to find mistakes in edc files, like "offset, -61, -1;" in the latest e_logo.edc :) Wrong lines, i hope, will be unusually painted.
Tested with vim61 on redhat 7.3 i386
