This definitly should take care of the problem, but if you want a stronger meaner way : glClearColor(0,0,0,0); glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); glLoadIdentity(); glFinish(); I am not too sure about glLoadIdentity, it should reset the view and everything in it, but I do not know if E will appreciate. You can also try disabling 2Dtexture, doing the clean up and reennabling 2Dtexture after.
