Interestingly, E now works with my multi head, so that I can have different backgrounds on Screen 0 and Screen 1. But neither Screen shows any background for Desktop 1 after restart/log in.
In 16.7.2, both screens shared the same Desktop backgrounds, but I was able to have different backgrounds for different Desktops.
