If you had done so you would have seen the output of 'locale -a', UTF8 or not, as well as the obvious copy-paste operations and the ensuing blank chars replacing the Cyrillic, inverted question mark, and other random accentuated chars and not be acting so redundantly about the feedback. Notwithstanding, if the chars in question were 'not Cyrillic' for you then that's it for me, here. (I had to fall back on GNOME terminal.) Blaming the end user for development issues in E21 apps will not draw in many fans. Best of luck and take care.
