Niltze-

Yeah, ePhoto is cool but I needed Shutter...yet

Fact is official Shutter 0.99.2-4 from Debian repos was not working under my highly customized Metztli Reiser4 / Debian Bookworm backports, where I had already built FFMPEG 8.x, Gimp 3.2.0, and related dependencies like pulseaudio, Webp, etc.. Thus, I began gradually building 'the Debian way' all those newer components that I use frequently, so as not to go back-and-forth to Debian Trixie.

Notwithstanding, Gimp 3.2.0 refused to build under Bookworm's 'official' libc6 2.36 and had to upgrade that component to Trixie's libc6 2.41 since, for whatever reason (and I tried in various OS instances hoping to get a glimpse into the failure), I was not able to build 'the Debian way' libc6 2.38 minimum required by referenced newer Gimp.

Probably, when I master the libc6 'Debian way' build, I might even seriously consider a Debian fork where E will be the default WM ;-) -- as it is not bloated as current Debian WM/Desktop offerings[1]. I mean, I do not have a problem setting E as default and Debian only WM since I hacked the Debian Installer (d-i) in my reiser4 image but...

And yes, I began following E:

[1] Indeed, the Debian Desktop with the mouse is allegedly streamlined, i.e., not so bloated, but somehow its design does not appeal to me ;p
