ctrl+al+k for kill - if you want to be less patient than e.

nb - you are right - maybe 10 seconds is too long, but then e doesn't know
about the app thats on the end of an ssh tunnel just being slow or an app that
you know hung. we could have heuristics. if e can trace the app back to an app
launch instance (e tries to track windows to a small struct it keeps around -
if e itself launched the app, then it has this, and so it knows the app was
local - and thus if it doesn't respond to a ping in 1-2 seconds is more likely
just badly hung. mind you i have seen firefox hang for 10 or 20 secs then
recover...), then be less patient. if e suspects the app is remote, then be
more forgiving.
