Hey, I've written a small rendering lib that is based on libspectre, this latter being based on ghostscript.
For the name, I've thought about eps (it's already an extension), egs (E ghostscript), epscript, epostcript. But I've also found 'ectoplasm', which is related to ghost or spectre. I'm currently using egs.
