The reason for the rename in the first place is silly, since the conflicting project already renamed itself years ago. Oh, sure some outdated distros (I saw a whole one listed) still use the old name, whoop-de-doo. So instead of asking the one (yes, probably more) old distribution to have their package use the correct name, you're asking several (I know of several with EFL packages for eina) to rename their packages.
