I have discovered a new feature in recent builds of E17. When I resize an Eterm to fit my screen, and then, press ^> to increase font size, the windo size is kept identical, so that, the number of cols per line, and line per window are reduced. How can i disable this feature ? Did not find any thing relevant in conf pannel. => if not yet done, please create a tick box to let user disable this.
I always have a very big Memo list (from the Rox suite). With time, the Memo window is more than 3000 pix height. My screen is 1024 height. When i log in, I see the bottom of list (using very old settings with Remember size and position and many other details). If i add or remove a memo, the window desapears. Adding or removing a memo make Memo need to resize the win automaticly (aka: NOT with user playing with decoration size). The windo goes away, and is sent to the Lost Window list. If I could disable the feature, this would not happen. I manipulate several memos per day, more than a dozen. Having to go in the lost windo list is not helping me organise my day, and is time (and energy) consuming. After going in the Lost Window lost, I can recover my Memo Window; but it is reduced, and I see only the top of the list; to reach today, I have to re-increase the window size; doing this is AGAIN time and energy consuming. Roughly, for each added or removed memo, what used to be 3 clicks is now 3+10 (plus more mouse moves, and pressing keys on keyboard to move the windo around ... ). The feature should be managed at two levels: in conf pannel for generic use, to affect, or not affect all apps by default, and, in the Remember setting, for window and application specific tweak. I do not want this feature (I can understand other people may want it). But any way, as it is implemented now, it's bugging. NB: i did not subscribe to the ML; please CC me.
