if kernel developers like it or not doesn't make it the "right thing" or not.
as such it becomes painful as i have to go 1 email at a time, go to "save
email" per mail - rename the files so they don't have too many chars i need to
escape in them, and make sure i name them in an ordered way, THEN i can begin
to apply the patches, when git already can spew out "001-xxxx.patch,
002-xxxx.patch ..." and i can just do a "save all attachements" in 1 go.

normally i copy and paste out of the mail view and cat to a file - but this can
insert wraps. the problem is saving the mail ends up with filenames like:

8.0K [E-devel]_[PATCH_1_5]_Remove_erroneus___UNUSED___mark.

and having to deal with shell meta chars just makes things painful.
