Hi folks, I could have done this announcement a long time ago now .. but last news is good follow :)
First of all, I'd like to thanks the Free Foundation[1], the french internet provider which give us 2 powerful servers, the hosting in a brand new and cutting edge datacenter and the internet connectivity for free. All theses announcement is based on that. I don't known if I should present myself, I follow Enlightement development since 6 years and a part of my professional work is to manage network security based on open source solutions for Exosec[2] in France. Another major part of this work is to manage server scalability, load balancing and load sharing which is also link to security. So here I came to help developers to get clean server and a base platform for any public and dev communications, code sharing etc .. We get 2 servers, e3 and e4 managed by beber, puppet_master and cedric, or more generically [11]. e3 is a server for compilation tests, performance tests and regression tests. Jobs about this is handled by Philippe Caseiro who will do another announcement in some times when job will be over. If you're interested with that, I think he would appreciate any help. He is also known as « Puppet Master ». The main goal of that is to do all described test previously on many arch supported by the Enlightenment libs and projets. As we have physical access to servers and available space on the rack, we planned to add embedded devices to do more "real" tests on non virtual devices. So if you want to give us some devices, please take us[3] advice. We will enjoy the share. Any financial subvention is also welcome, don't hesitate to donate. e4 is a more "public" server with web and mail as a goal. SVN users are synced on e4, with any RSA/DSA SSH keys that is registered in your devs/*.pub directory on SVN, so everyone can access to this new server and put his files in ~/public_html to get it available to earth. No password is allowed for login, so make update your keys if needed. Your personal space will be available on http://dev.enlightenment.fr/~user We could easily make it available with the .org TLD, configuration is ready, it just need a CNAME on e4. It need chief acceptance. This apply to all .fr related things (mails, web etc). We also can easily make you public web space available on a non-e domain, just make your DNS domain point to e4, and ask for an activation, as watchwolf done. Every dev also get a MySQL database, so you host any blog or whatever that need a database. You will need a password that is known by root users. If many dev are interested, I can send the password by mail as a ruch for everyone. Just ask. You also get a <user>@enlightenment.fr alias that forward to the email field in your info.txt, only for email that don't start by '-'. Users are synced every 15 minutes from SVN. Web statistics are generated every days at midnight UTC. Every 30 minutes SVN is synced to git repositories which can be browse at [12]. All libs/projets have been split to create small repo, but svn.git is a full SVN import. History commits are imported as well. For instance, only pull is permitted for SVN projets. Personal git spaces are also available. All ~user that you can see on the end of the list represent the content of your ~/public_git. Give it a try. Remote URL are described on the end of each repository. git statistics are generated every 12 hours. For exemple [13]. Any non SVN users can ask for an account, like kuri, that would be a pleasure. Any other than french associations can get a space, etc. All .org domains are available with the geeky .42 TLD. See [14]. Apart git.enlightenment.42 that point on .fr one as .org is broken. We can create mailing for those who want, just ask. Some lists are available right now for french association #e.fr : - a...@lists.enlightenment.fr - us...@lists.enlightenment.fr Public are archives are available on [6]. Sourceforge lists are duplicated with history. And we can now move from sf lists to e4 if Raster accept/want to. Next step is to move some e2 website and work to get only trac on this server.
