I'm agree with both positions: In favour of keeping it: it holds all the text manipulation functions of entry under one namespace. Against: redundant, we have 2 extra functions that don't add functionality. If I have to pick one over the other, I'd say: keep it, even as a macro if you are cheap on symbols (but really, just leave it as a function).
