I am trying to write an alternitive version of the Enlightenment's 'start menu', where instead of a cascade menu it is a three column thingy (I am not sure what this sort of menu is called), something like this (from Mint):

The documentation for edje leaves a lot to be desired and the API for enlightenment itself is pretty much not documented at all.
