Hmm, I should be shipping byte-compiled example files, as well as the 
plain source files. Otherwise if someone runs the examples then 
uninstalls the package the byte-code files will remain, which is 
undesirable. Now I need to work out why examples seem to be byte 
compiled in that fedora log but not for openSUSE
