that's all we have. you can test to see if it works without the ifdef and add
it back then and leave it until release... :/

that was never meant to be exposed because no new features were meant to be
exposed on micro versions - this is a temporary thing until next release.
exposing micro i think is possibly bad as it may encourage people to think
features can be added during micro versions. :)
