As I have said, there is a 1.7 branch that will fullfill that requirement.

Sorry I don't have an infinite amount of time. Writting code that I
will revert in the next month is very low on my priority list,
especially when there is a way to get things working, see above. If
you have ample time to do it, you are welcome to do the patch and
revert it once the text interface has landed.
