u have a file called #gnome-settings-daemon.eap - how did it get the #? thats

That file comes from ~/.e/e/applications/startup/.order:
#gnome-settings-daemon.eap

In the original setting, at startup the Gnome session properties was loaded; but I don't like to me (too much memory consumed). So I edited this ".order" file and I've put the symbol # in front of "gnome-settings-daemon.eap" (yes I know not so clean but was just a try).

not very usual. and well apparently a bunch of files changed while u were
logged out of e17 or since it last generated a cache file.

Sorry, I don't understand if this is a problem 8-)
