Why not?
I've got an engage bar down the bottom of my desktop.
I've got a small ( 3-item ) ibar at the top, with launchers database
front-ends I'm working on.
I'd like to set up another ibar for MySQL-related apps.
I wouldn't even mind having another just for OpenOffice launchers.
There's no need to put all your eggs in 1 basket.
I'd far rather have multiple launchers than having icons and files on my
desktop. If you allow 1 icon / file, pretty soon you'll have the desktop
completely covered with crap. But a couple of application launcher bars
scattered around the place doesn't look all that bad.
Anyway, I'm ( just barely ) managing with an engage bar and an ibar :)
