I have the same problem. As I am using a french keyboard, I thought that
maybe e17 was interpreting the 1 touch as a & (you have to press shift
to make a 1 with a french keyboard, without it produce a &). So I tried
to press shift, but it doesnt work.
I also tried to use & instead of 1 in the key-binding definition, but it
didn't work.
Are you using a non-US keyboard ?

That appears to be the trouble. Your command, and its result, are the
exact same as mine. Except that I don't get the desktop flip.
Sorry about the novice question, but how might I go about determining
which program has stolen this binding? I know that when an Eterm is
active, the Eterm menubar will flash when I press Alt-1.
then that sounds like the keybinding is being handled - but e simply isnt
flipping desktops. Are u already ON desktop 0?
