Well, I'm not one of them.  Slackware doesn't even ship with Gnome anymore.

My mistake, I'm running a newer version of enlightenment. In the cvs version,
the config files are in .e16 instead of .enlightenment and the format of a
lot of the files is changed. 

What you described above should work and is basically the same as what I
described just using the e16.7 style format.

Understood. I have added three keybindings here to get my laptop's VolumeUP,
VolumeDown, and Mute keys to work. Other than those my keybindings are as e16
shipped.

If there is, I don't know how to do it. Maybe someone more knowledgeable
than I can suggest something that would do that.
