This is the 'one size > fits all': do it my way or go away...Yes, I think Raster is going mad. what - "no way to login" - run enlightenment_start instead of enlightenment. the dialog tells you to. it works exactly the same way. no one ever told you to use "enlightenment" to start the session - no document anywhere for e says that. the official enlightenment.desktop file that does describe how to start and e login session DOES say to use enlightenment_start. the dialog explains it. in plain english. i am doing this because you SHOULD be using it. if different people launch e different ways and for a lot one way "happens to work" because they are very clean about doing things right - great, but when some others do things wrongly and e_start is there to fix it (put prefix/bin in $PATH, add prefix/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH for when people forget or don't know any better to fix their system to work properly after an install) and they get mixed stories about how to do something. some people say "do it this way" others say "do it this way" then that becomes a support PROBLEM. remember that it is US who end up with the support problem. i know. i have been doing this for over a decade. this fixes that class of problems FOR those users and stops the support issue. this has nothing to do with PS3 or YDL or anything. this has to do with addressing commonly spotted issues amongst users on irc, email etc. not to mention having such a launcher shim in between is a useful future-proof system that lets use do things like insert all sorts of evil at a later point (much like an LD_PRELOAD... in fact this could even set up LD_PRELOADS on the fly for things like debugging, hacking, etc. etc.) > > > ... > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------Using > Tomcat but need to do more?
