Hello,

I guess this is really a question about the e17 RPMs for Fedora Core 6
and an x86_64 system available at
http://maurice.leeflang.net/fedora/6/x86_64/RPMS.e17/,
but I didn't know where else to turn.

I get the same errors when I try to start E using an X session manager
(run level 5) or from a console (as you would if you were in run level
3). When I try to start E from the X (Gnome) session manager, the end of
.xssession-errors contains the following:

> Creating backend ...
> Loading x11 FrontEnd module ...
> ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/enlightenment/preload/e_precache.so' from
> LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
> GTK Panel of SCIM 1.4.4
>
> enlightenment: symbol lookup error: enlightenment: undefined symbol:
> ECORE_EXE_EVENT_DEL

This being an x86_64 system, there is no e_precache.so in /usr/lib/... ,
but /usr/lib64/enlightenment/preload/e_precache.so does exist. So
evidently enlightenment is looking for its libraries in /usr/lib, not
/usr/lib64 as it should be.

Before, when I was using Didier's i386 RPMs, E17 worked fine for. The
problem arose when I switched to the x86_64 RPMs. This is at least the
second release of the Maurice RPMs for which I have this problem, so
this must be due to some misconfiguration of my system. But I can't
imagine what that would be. My system is up to date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have missed Enlightenment,
since upgrading to FC6.

Thanks,

Alex
