Test to see if Xinerama does the same mouse wierdness in another window manager. Xinerama should work fine in other wm's as it does in my laptop. So far I have found xinerama works as advertised in icewm, wmaker, e16, kde, except metacity, which is no great loss as E17 is far superior. (thanks E17 devs!) Check out what settings are required for xinerama for the machine's video card.
