yup - that's what its meant to do.

you'll find code in e_fm_main.c commented out trying to mount as your user id
(thus give you permission to write to the mounted fs), but dbus's hald just
aborts/ignores the mount request entirely. if this were to work, you would have
what you want. if someone wants to figure out what hald demands as options -
please let me know, but i've tried - and gave up to go onto other things.
