For me trayer is the only standable system tray at the moment. I
installed OpenGEU recently and there was fbpanel in action. Before they
used the panel from xfce i think. I disklike both of them because i
don't need the menus and all the stuff.

Trayer can be integrated quite well in the E17 desktop because of
transparency and can handly gnome and kde crap (ups ;-) ) (which fbpanel
doesn't).

Did somebody play around with the kde4 libs? Do they work better than
kde3? Gnome-settings-manager and all other things can be integrated into
an E environment quite well. As i tried this with KDE the last time....
tja as I said i use the gnome stuff in the background again ;-). But i
think the KDE-guys have some quite good ideas and may be worth a try in
combination with E...
