There is a difference between what e16 meant by a virtual desk top and
what the term means in e17...

What e17 calls a virtual desktop is more like what e16 called multiple
desktops. Which could each have their own background image...

IN e16 each one of the multiple desktops had as many virtual desktops
as set in the virtual desktop settings. And each of the virtual
desktops would share the same background image.

The "VIRTUAL" desktops in e16 shared something else however.
Occasionally (probably due to my insistence on large fonts that I can
actually read) a gui tool won't fit properly on the screen. There may
be some buttons that I need just a little bit too far down, or even
too far to the right for me to get at them... But with e16 as long as
I opened the said gui tool in something besides the bottom row or
rightmost column of my virtual desktops I could switch to the virtual
desktop below, (or to the right) And the rest of the gui tool would be
accessible there...

Is there a way to do this with e17's idea of a virtual desktop???
