dim/undim, I think there should be an ACPI event to trigger them, right? try
acpi_listen to see if those events are beeing generated. If no ACPI keys are
being triggered, maybe you are having an X86 key. I know that from key
bindings you may try to catch them

If this doesn't helps.....then I don't know :D
