Hi all,

I've been having trouble with E17 crashing on me when I try to
change applications -- default, startup, IBar, etc. Previously, this
would cause E to segfault, and I'd have to restart. No problem,
other than the application no being changed. As of rev 62078
though, when this happens E crashes hard enough to drop back to
the gdm screen. What's really nasty is that E will not start
again; it hangs with the gdm background image in place, but no
panel, dialogs, or what have you.  Nor will Gnome or E16 start;
same symptoms. I can log in via the console VTs, they work fine.
To get X back, though, I have to do a complete reboot, after which
I can log in normally.

I tried deleting the ~/.e directory, but that hasn't helped. I
also tried killing the enlightenment and enlightenment_start
processes, which sent me back to the gdm screen. Unfortunately, I
still can't log in. So I did something I've never done before, I
fired up gdb and tried to get a backtrace. I hope it's useful.
If there's anything more I can do, let me know. You'll have to be
pretty specific, though. Like I said, I've never used gdb before,
so any instructions will have to be quite detailed.

The backtrace is at <http://fpaste.org/TJLj/>. I hope this helps.

For the record, I'm running Fedora 14 on a dual-core Athlon system
with 2 gig of ram.
