It would appear that on Dec 13, JtWdyP did say: > But yesterday, after I did {in a root shell}: > > apt-get update > apt-get upgrade > > E17 started giving me several SEGV'd pop-ups every time I run startx... > > If I do a ctrl+alt+F1 to look at tty1, I see several of these: > > - - - - - - - - -< s n i p >- - - - - - - - - - > > CRI<>lib/eo/eo.c:430 *** Eina Magic Check Failed !!! > Input handle pointer is NULL ! > *** NAUGHTY PROGRAMMER!!! > *** SPANK SPANK SPANK!!! > *** Now go fix your code. -snipped. . . . . . . . . .stuff Well I didn't do anything to fix it. Unless you count pressing F1 anything from 6 to 12 times per boot for more reboots than I could stand to count... (And occasionally run e16 instead.) But after several days, it just stopped throwing the SEGV'd errors. Yet if I use ctrl+alt+Fkey to peek at the tty from which I ran startx, I'm still seeing lots of those "Eina Magic Check" errors... And I still have no idea if the "*** NAUGHTY PROGRAMMER!!!" that needs a spanking is a SnowLinux coder, or if it's a bit upstream from there??? -- JtWdyP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LogMeIn Rescue: Anywhere, Anytime Remote support for IT.
