Hi all, try autofs, I use that for nfs shares for a long time, it works also with smb (google).
It works just entering /net/server_name_or_ip/share, so you can create favorites from server shares. I dont know what I will do without autofs:) In command line just "cd /net/server_name/<TAB>".
