Oh my, that's a big change. I really don't want this. I don't want the behaviour at all. How do I get a window under my active window to never take pointer focus?

I don't want this either. I want the window under to stay under and not exist as far as focus and input are concerned, the way E has behaved for me for literally 20 years now. How do I get back to that state? I did nothing to get out of it, but maybe something changed that I don't understand.
