Hi, sadly I have the same issue and for the moment I did not yet found the root cause.
I was thinking about an issue with py3.8, but as you are on 3.7 that is not the cause of the problem. At this point it can be a Cython issue (can you try with an older cython?) or an efl/e building issue, infact edgar also broke in the same way when efl/e switched to meson.
