I can see what the aur has - if its updated yet. i normally use chromium not chrome and i'm normally behind by a few weeks/months :) so aur has 94 there... i'll see. so ... this is bizarre. just installed 94.0.4606.54. Absolute upper-left X: 0 Absolute upper-left Y: 0 Relative upper-left X: 0 Relative upper-left Y: 0 Width: 1292 Height: 1400 ... -geometry 1292x1400+0+0 but it's not - it's actually at 23 pixels down. it's DISPLAYED where it should be but the window geometry seems to be the size of the entire frame including e's borders. the client area should be like 1292x1375 and at 0,23 (absolute upper-left x,y). so this is not chrome doing something funky with absolute events and handling them wrongly. the window is literally there as far as x is concerned but e has moved the image object to where it should be but not changed the client window geometry to match. so my guess is e forgot to move/resize the actual x11 window at some point and put it where it should be... or it's got an internal mess-up going where it thinks its still a borderless window without a titlebar but has now added one. but... now something really fucked up... i have "use system titlebar and borders" selected and... chrome is refusing to do that and uses its own titlebar. i just ran chrome a second time. the first time i ran it, it did use e's borders. now it refuses. also now every time it runs it starts up wider than before. like by 300-400 pixels. that's chrome REQUESTING that size i assume and e is just sizing it as it asks ... this is pretty messed up. so it's not respecting its own setting and size is being odd. i now can't reproduce this because chrome refuses to honor it's own settings... :( and now i rm -rf'd ~/.config/google-chrome and the option to use system titlebar is gone. hooray. i tried the workaround of disabling "#use-ozone-platform" and it also refuses to use wm titlebar. i guess chrome devs have decided that this is no longer to be an option or supported. it's gone from the regular config once you clear old settings and the flags entry is useless. :( https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/pgm1n9/chrome_title_bar/ at the end of comments "workaround doesn't work anymore". so not just me and e... it's kde users too. i think... you need to have a chat with your chrome dev friends. nothing i can do if chrome is now deciding to say "no more system titlebars for you". ... i think it might be time to move back to firefox. now in further news... chrome BETA does show the option again... under appearance. perhaps an outcry from users forced them to add it back. and it works. and i have the problem back now. now i can chase it. i'll see what i can find... but fixes will go into current e ... :) but just note -
