what he said :) you can indeed just make a master script and a .desktop to
launch that - put things in that script or have that script run a dir of
scripts. up to you! :) your choice :)

and e does have a dir for this to drop .desktops into:

~/.e/e/applications/startup

yes - only .desktop files will be "run" but its done this way so the
apps/scripts are easily searched, indexed and even have icons in the gui etc.
and for most "normies" they want to run some app - so has a .desktop already.;
for more advanced power users... they can do the above :)
