Subject: [enterasys] Tracking down a mac address by console method...

On the old SmartSwitch 6000 chassis, I remember I used to be able to
track down a particular machine from it's IP address, by a method
something like:

telnet into each blade and type ping <ip address> to populate the arp
table.
then query the arp tabel to see which port that mac address had been
seen on.
if the port was an uplink, i'd move on to the switch that uplink
connected to and repeat.
at some point, it's report a port which wasn't an uplink and that was
it.

Is there a similar way of doing this from the CLI on a C2124-48P?

?

Nick.
