Hi,

We've discovered that Expect works well enough for quick work as you've 
probably already figured out. I'd recommend only using that for work that's not 
critical or risks production failure.

If you're doing a large infrastructure update or change, I'd really recommend 
using the NMS because if you fail to address an issue on an upstream switch, 
then downstream switches suffer. NMS can deal with this.

Also consider your network security. I wouldn't recommend allowing SSH access 
to your switches from any addresses that aren't secure (read: Admin computers).

we use rancid (uses expect) for that as well. We only have C-Series-Switches 
but i think it should work for B-Series as well.

Does anyone know of a way to script configuration changes over SSH to B5's 
(maybe S-Series too)? We would like to make batch changes to multiple switches 
automatically, so it would need to be automated (no prompting).
