Guys, today I had a hard time identifying problems when I thought I had once used RMON Capture successfully although I could not make it work right now.
Can you put an RMON Capture on a trunk (tagged VLANs)? Well I did try everything (trunks and edge ports) and it either filtered nothing or stuff not belonging to the filter at all. Accompanied by messages like "cannot modify buffer" to start with, "nnn bytes missing" in the captured packets and the like... On some wireless access points I see you can use rpcap. Now how sexy would that be on "normal" switches. How do you guys debug (except for mirroring ports)?
