I'm not talking about internally developed Addons, I'm talking about
Addons from sources I trust, but that are not signed by Mozilla.
Hopefully this is what is meant, and if so, I would reluctantly switch
to the ESR (see below as to why I probably won't).

I have always preferred the Release version because I wanted some/most
of the new features. Sadly this one new feature is a deal breaker for
me, and many others I know.

45 ESR isn't far away, so at that point ESR 38 will be in the same boat
that 43 is.

That said, I just learned about the unbranded versions will be available
that will still have the pref to allow me to install unsigned Addons, so
switching to an unbranded version is now my plan - as long as it still
regularly applies updates automatically.
