I compared the desktop icon properties I had to the properties of the icon in
the Start Menu. They were pretty much identical accept for the security
settings. The ESR icon had more users and groups under security.
I found that if I lauched Firefox from the Start Menu icon, I was able to
launch another Firefox windows from the taskbar icon. If I launched it from the
desktop icon, it would fail to launch another Firefox windows. I guess it boils
down to a rights issue.

The best I can offer is to look at the old icon in the Task-bar
and see where it points. I think it will point to a non-existing
launch file that was deleted when the RR version was uninstalled.
Suggest you instruct your users via a group e-mail how to remove
the old icon and drag/drop the ESR version icon onto the desktop, or
"Pin" to the Task-bar.
