I updated Flash to 26.0.0.126 on 13 June (at that point this was the latest 
version).

I updated Firefox to 52.2.0esr 64-bit on 14 June (again at that point it was 
the latest version).

I'm aware both are no longer the current version, which is why I specified the 
versions instead of saying "the latest".  I'm about to start install the latest 
version and begin testing.  We'll see if it stays "fixed". <shrugs>

Full disclosure: virus checker is Trend Micro OfficeScan, agent version 
11.0.1454

We've also had to restart our proxy server several times in the last couple of 
weeks due to a series of power outages.

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/ suggests that the latest flash plugin 
for firefox is 26.0.0.131

Can you confirm that you *up*graded to 26.0.0.126 ?
