There are people who don't agree with my interpretation of the standards,
but when I first researched this issue, the consensus in the MIME newsgroup
is that text/plain *must* be hard wrapped at 80 columns. I don't know of
any modern email clients that break this standard, although Mailsmith
optionally allows you to not wrap lines if I remember correctly. Eudora
uses format=flowed, which does not violate the standards.
