Hey guys. I'm reasonably sure my problem exists between the keyboard and
chair, but it's too late and I'm too tired...
Has/did anyone have trouble importing their Palm Desktop data file into
'Rage? I do have a somewhat peculiar setup in that I use Palm Desktop as my
PIM, but I don't actually have a PDA. Also, my data file wasn't called "User
Data." On the initial import assistant, I was offered an open dialog box
that didn't ask for anything, and didn't want to open anything. [I later
decided it was prompting me for my PalmDesktop data file.] Well, after
manually navigating to it, it still wasn't listed. According to the ReadMe,
this is because of the file name? [Isn't there a better way to do that?]
Anyway, I changed the file name to User Data, killed all of the Palm Desktop
processes so that the file wasn't in use, and dropped it inside a folder
called "Users" in my Palm Desktop folder. Now when I run Import from the
file menu, it doesn't offer an open dialog box and skips to the fourth step
of the wizard having done nothing.
Any clue or whack over the head with a large stick is greatly appreciated.
[Can anyone give me the full path, file names, and file characteristics
'Rage looks for before it will import?]
Btw, MacsBug came down whilst composing this remarkable bit of prose and I
ended up killing 'Rage and re-launching. Max sprung to life upon launch to
let me know that he managed to salvage the first half of the message. That
just made my night! [easily impressed, I know]
