I thought the 2nd address line was there for all contacts, or is this really
something special for Japanese contacts? If it is, then my comment further
down may not help.

It will allow you to create a data merge source file with the fields (and
contacts) you need. Unless, as noted above, that "Address Line 2" really is
a special field just for Japanese contacts (but I don't think it is).
