Yes, it works with your example because there are more than two spaces at
the beginning of the indented lines. But if the indent is one or two spaces,
the indent is not preserved. Try replying to this:
This is normal text
here there is one space
this line is preceded with two spaces
now there are three
The third line will be indented, but the second and third won't be. Indent
should be preserved no matter how many (or few!) spaces are used.
