Just in case you don't know how to turn on the crash log in Console:

Setting Console Preferences to Log Crashes

You now enable crash reporting using Console to set up some preferences that
will determine how the crash logs are displayed and stored. The Console
application can be found in :

Applications->Utilities

- Launch Console and open its preference panel and select the tab labeled
"Crashes".

- Check the first box. This will store the crash logs in your home Library
folder under "Logs". Crashes will be stored by application. For instance if
Mail crashes will be logged to

~/Library/Logs/Mail.crash.log

Note : You must have the first box checked as shown below or the crashes
will not be logged.

Reproduce the Crash

Once your preferences have been set crashes should be detected. Try to
reproduce the problem that was causing the crash.

When a crash occurs the backtrace information will be stored in the log file
as described above.

Note : It is important to clear out your "Logs" folder since crashes will be
appended to the log file. This will prevent the instances where multiple
crashes are shown in the same file which causes confusion when the
engineering teams look at the logs to help resolve the problem.
