Diane, That's not true on my machine. Deleting an unread message leaves an unread message in the Deleted Items folder, and, as Remo says, leaves the Deleted Items folder highlighted. I wrote a script that does "Mark read, delete" just to avoid that annoying problem.
As for Remo's strange display problem, I can't say as I've seen that exact one, but I have (even today) seen a weird one when the list of a custom view is softed by Folder. I click on a message to select it and find that that message <disappears> from the list and the following one gets selected instead. If I then click on the message preceding the one selected, the "invisible" message suddenly replaces the one I clicked on and I get the one I originally wanted. If I resort, as in View Threaded, for instance, I have no problem. I also had a similar situation to Remo's when sorted by Folder. I selected all the messages in a certain folder, about fifteen of them, and did "Mark as Read." Now, I was viewing "Unread only" at the time, but normally when in that view, if you mark things as read they stay visible. To make them disappear you have to toggle "View Unread Only" off and then on again. But, in this case, all the messages I marked as read <except one!> immediately disappeared. When I toggled "View Unread Only" off, they were still there, so it is purely a display problem. -- Microsoft MVP for Entourage/OE/Word Allen Watson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> XNS name: =Allen Watson Applescripts for Outlook Express and Entourage: <http://homepage.mac.com/allenwatson/> > From: Diane Ross <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2001 12:24:24 -0800 > To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: Mail list display bug > > On 12/28/01 9:14 AM, "Remo Del Bello" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> I'm subscribed to a number of high traffic mailing lists and regularly will >> delete a whole number of messages without reading them.
