*** Aggravation alert! *** I used Dock Detox to get the icon bounce to stop on Errors (as well as everything else), figuring that sounds would alert me to messages. And for a while, sounds did alert me to messages. But I've just noticed they stopped. I logged out and back in, and the sounds have returned. But for how long?
Now, I knew that sometimes invoking Classic could result in killing sounds, though I haven't tracked down exactly what Classic-related action resulted in no sounds on my particular machine, but didn't think it that big a deal for now because I seldom invoke Classic on my iBook, where Entourage X dwells. But lo and behold, no Classic since my last login, and yet abruptly no sounds. Dock Detox didn't kill sounds, at least not right away. It's been invoked all morning, and it was only a little while ago that sounds stopped. An urgent email arrived during that time, of course, which I didn't notice even though I'm working away on my computer. So then an annoyed client called wondering why I hadn't replied. I still say that have the icon bounce on Errors should be an option, and separate from icon bounce on message arrival. I actually like the icon bounce on message arrival (especially since who know when the sounds might up and bail out on me) but not for errors, which are not that uncommon for at least one of the mail servers I connect to. *** Okay, Aggravation Alert over! *** -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
