Barry
Thanks for your reply. I still have some questions. Here
was my original problem:
I import from Eudora to Entourage X and it imports contacts
well. In Eudora, I had a number of messages in my "In"
box which I had already read. I was soon going to transfer them
to various specific mailboxes for storage, but had not yet done so.
These collected messages in my Eudora "In" box did not get
imported into my Entourage "In" box.
I also had various other mailboxes ("Clients,"
"Personal," "Fun," etc.) in Eudora in which I had
saved messages. The import into Entourage did not import any of
these mailboxes containing saved messages.

What size is your database?
About 3500 contacts already in
Entourage
About 200 in Eudora
You previously wrote
I think he's saying that he has some outgoing messages in some
mailboxes.
Sorry my original question wasn't clear.
I hope the restatement of it at the beginning of this email is
clearer.
You wrote
IIRC, the import doesn't create outgoing messages, it treats them
all as incoming. I think I handled it by finding all the outgoing mail
(messages where 'from' is me, but excluding all list messages first)
then running a script to make them outgoing.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by that,
but anyway, it doesn't seem to address my original question (hope my
restatement makes it easier for you.

I can't remember if the MBOX format was ever fixed but try
dragging a folder to the desktop from Eudora and then drag into
Entourage.
and you wrote:
Entourage only recognises MBOX files after you change the creator type to
"MBOX" instead of "TEXT" (or so it used to be in OS 9, things may have
changed with the way OS X handles filename extensions!).
How do I change the creator
type?
