The best is eMA - eMessage Archiver - for FMP. I've got the link somewhere,
or find it at versiontracker. It's particularly useful if you have a complex
message database (lots of folders, may want to archive separate archive
documents, etc.) and even lets you reply directly to an archived message in
FMP via Entourage.

If you're just looking to slim down your daily database, you can make
separate "archive" identities in Entourage itself: isolate your older
messages in their own folders (as many as you want), drag them to your
desktop. They become MBOX text files. Delete the original folders from your
main Entourage identity. MBOXes as they are You can just leave the that
way, then drag them back in to Entourage - or to another, empty identity in
Entourage - whenever you need to search on them. Or you can even make a new
"dated" identity every few months, dragging MBOXes, say, from the last 3-6
months into a new identity and deleting the original folders from your main,
current identity. Then when you need to look up something from a year ago,
just switch to the correct identity. Really easy. If you're not short of
hard disk space. that's the simplest solution. If you won't need to check
archives often and need to conserve hard disk space to a minimum, just keep
dates MBOXes , and drag one in when necessary. (Delete the folder again when
done.) If you need a sophisticated solution, use eMA.
